Colour correction that knows how deep the shot was

Water takes the red out of a photograph before it reaches the sensor, and it takes more of it the deeper you go. That is why one filter cannot be right for a five-metre reef top and a twenty-five-metre wall: they are not the same photograph with a different mood, they are two different amounts of missing light.

Photic matches each photo to the moment on your dive profile it was taken, reads the depth it was taken at, and corrects for that. Not a preset, and not a global slider applied to the whole dive, but a correction per photo, from the depth that photo was actually shot at.

It is one touch, and it is a quantity rather than a verdict: if the automatic result is stronger or weaker than you wanted, you move it.

Video is coming, and it works the same way. We will colour correct your dive videos in the cloud rather than on your phone, so the length of the clip is not a wait you have to sit through. Upload it, get on with your day, and it will be ready to watch when you come back.

Marine life tagged for you

Photic looks at your photos and works out what is in them: rays, nudibranchs and more, so your library is organised without an evening of tagging.

If we are not quite sure, we will also offer suggestions for you to review. Confirm the ones we got right, correct the ones we did not, and Photic keeps the ones you confirmed.

Search that understands dives

Find photos by species, by dive site, by date, or by any combination: "the nudibranchs from Bali", "everything from the second dive on the Liberty".

Underwater cameras have no GPS, so a general photo app cannot place a dive photo on a map or group it by where it was taken. Photic knows where each dive was because you logged the dive, and every photo on that dive inherits it.

Your dive log, and your dive computer

Sync a dive computer over Bluetooth, or import a dive log file, and your dives come across with their profiles: depth over time, temperature, the shape of the dive.

That log is what makes the colour correction depth-aware, and it is a better dive record on its own: the photos sit on the profile at the moment they were taken.

Photic Studio, for dive posts worth sharing

Build a post from your photos with the dive laid over it: the site, the depth that shot was taken at, the time, what was in the frame. Sized for Instagram and Facebook, so it is a thing you share rather than a thing you export and then reformat.

Search is how you find the photos for it. Ask for every octopus you saw in 2026, pick your favourites out of the results, and Studio groups them into one post. The search you use to find a photo is the same search you use to build with.

It works on the boat

Liveaboards do not have Wi-Fi, and that is when you are shooting most. The Photic mobile app works offline: import, correct, tag and log while you are out, and everything uploads on its own when you next have signal.

Offline is how the app is built rather than a mode you switch into, so there is nothing to remember to turn on before you leave the dock.
